More About Blue Point Ragdoll
The ragdoll was created in the 1960s by American breeder Ann Baker. Their most well-known qualities are their lovely heart and serene, pleasant demeanor. A “ragdoll” is a modified breed that resembles the original breeding stock but is more likely to be pliable and easily lifted.
Blue Point Ragdoll
The term “dog-like cats” or “puppy-like cats” is frequently used to describe ragdoll cats due to their tendency to follow people, tolerance for handling, and relatively low level of antagonism toward other animals. Ragdolls are distinguished by their large, glittering blue eyes, silky, thick coats, broad limbs, long tails, and pointed coloration, with the body being lighter than the face, ears, legs, and tail. Their color rings are usually tricolor or bicolor.
Breed Description
Because of their Persian and Birman ancestry, ragdolls are recognized for having a calm and easygoing personality. Whether this trait results from a genetic mutation or is a reaction to the care their mother provided when they were kittens is up for debate. The deep submissiveness of Ragdolls contributes to the myth that they are insensitive to pain. Overly submissive cats may not be the best for the animal, so some British breeders have made an effort to avoid breeding them.
Physical Characteristics
One of the most popular breeds of domestic cats is the ragdoll. Females weigh between 8 and 15 pounds (3.6 and 6.8 kg) when they reach adulthood. Men’s weight ranges, on the other hand, vary greatly, ranging from 12 to 20 pounds (5.4 to 9.1 kg) or more.
Ragdolls may take up to four years to reach their maximum size. Their legs are proportionate, their body is broad, and their structure is sturdy. Their massive skulls have a flat top and a large gap between the ears. Their muscular, lengthy bodies are defined by their massive chests and short necks.
Their thick, silky coats vary in length from medium to long. They have bushy tails and huge, spherical, tuft-covered paws. They need to be brushed at least twice a week because their coats are typically overly long. Adults grow a ruff around their necks and knickerbockers on their hind legs.
